Creating Private Nameservers
From BlueFur.com Support Wiki
What are Name Servers?
Every domain name is required to have a primary nameserver (eg. ns1.domainname.ca), and at least one secondary nameserver (ns2.domainname.ca etc). This is to ensure that the domain is still reachable if a nameserver becomes inaccessible.
Human-readable domains like bluefur.com are easy for people to remember, but they don't do computers any good. All of the computers connected to the internet use IP addresses to refer to one another. Every time you use a domain name, you use the Internet's domain name servers (DNS) to translate the human-readable domain name into the machine-readable IP address. During a day of browsing and e-mailing, you might access the domain name servers hundreds of times!
Domain name servers translate domain names to IP addresses.
Creating Private Nameservers
All of our resellers are provided their own nameservers using their main domain. So if you sign-up with generichosting4u.com then you will be provided 2 nameservers and 2 IP's for those nameservers. It would look like ns1.generichosting4u.com and ns2.generichosting4u.com.
For your customers to use your hosting you will need to create your nameservers at your registrar. There are 1000's and 1000's of registrars. We have a list and video sampling of some common registrars below. If yours is not listed then please contact your registrar for instructions on how to do it.
